IDF operation in Tel-Sultan
Thursday 20/05/2004 01:17

A large procession of several hundred demonstrators, among them gunmen, organized by the Palestinian Authority, left central Rafah along the main road towards IDF forces in Tel-Sultan. As the crowd, with the gunmen among them, drew near IDF forces, a warning fire of a single missile was fired from a helicopter into an open area, not towards the demonstrators.

Palestinian PrisonersThe IDF is conducting an activity in order to target weapon smuggling tunnels in Gaza
Since the night hours IDF forces have been operating along the "Philadelphi" road in order to target the terrorist infrastructure in the city of Rafah. Since the beginning of the Palestinian violence Rafah has become a gate way for the entrance of weapons used by the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

The Israeli Army is attempting to destroy a series of tunnels in southern Gaza that are used for smuggling arms into the strip from Egypt. A photographer accompanied Israeli soldiers on a recent mission into southern Gaza. This is his record for BBC News Online of what he saw.

Geneva Conventions regarding Civilians
The Palestinian leadership continually perpetrate war crimes against their own people and the world remains silent, choosing instead to condemn Israel at every turn for legitimate defensive military
actions.
