News media have lit a fire under West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) and Dundee City Council (DCC) with allegations of anti-Semitic undertones to the Councils' motions on a boycott of goods and services emanating from (and only from) Israel. WDC and DCC may have track records of responding in similar fashion to humanitarian issues from around the world but they are imperceptible.
US President Barak Obama and Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, have had, to use a term beloved by their critics, ‘disproportionate’ media coverage of their recent speeches concerning the unrest throughout the Middle East and North Africa in general and the Arab-Israeli conflict in particular, and rightly so.

CAMERA Letter in USA Today: Case Against Israel Built on Faulty Argument
At the heart of commentary writer George Bisharat's piece "Israeli raid 'illegal,' its acts 'unconscionable' " is misleading propaganda. Bisharat slanders Israel as trying to "impose itself by force on an entire region that rejects its claims to ethnic supremacy" and as being "a state committed to privileging Jews, implanted ... in a country with a majority Palestinian population" that "can only be sustained by violence"

However, Israel was established on a sliver of British Mandatory Palestine. There was no pre-existing Palestinian Arab country. The mandate, confirmed by the League of Nations and reaffirmed by the United Nations, facilitated re-establishment of the Jewish people in their ancient homeland. Jewish immigration and economic development attracted Arab migration into what would become Israel. That migration and Arab massacres of Jews led Britain to bar further Jewish return.
